Artist's Comments

This character was created for Draco's story Zero Hour which is (more or less) Episode II of Maverick Hunters: Time and Time Again. His name is Hunter (or Vile's Son), and he's generally disliked by the main cast. He happens to be a badass and can basically take any one of them except for their leader... who's name is Zeek

Zeek considers himself the son of [Mega Man] X, though of course that isn't technically true, since reploids cannot have children. If nothing else, X was like a father to him, and in this particular timeline, Hunter killed X.

Well, Reploids generally have large boots... and considering that only Mega Man X and Mega Man X2 have occured in this timeline, that also accounts for the low "poly count" on most of the main characters.

Hunter here is special, though, (as always) so he looks more detailed than the other characters. Also of note is that he's missing a large chunk out of his stomach in this image. With the Maverick Hunter flag wrapped around his upper body, he originally looked a bit like Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series. Luckily, I have tweeked his design since then... including the missing armour from his upper right arm and upper right leg.

Though I am familiar with the X series (I have a grand total of 14 years playing the Mega Man games) I just thought I'd point out the apparent design feature of his larger feet...even though it's the style...maybe a larger chest would make the eyes balance out the picture more? Maybe some chunkier hands?

Well, basically, the points you made are quite valid. At the moment, I'm just trying to lay down the baseline for the character designs. You see, this story is long old and complete. I figured if I wanted to do a full comic, I might as well pick a work that's already been done so I don't have to think about it. So, at some point, I will probably take down these pics and put them into Scraps so I can put new, better pictures up of these characters.

The hands... I missed the hands. The fact is, a lot of his chest is missing under that flag, but you're right... it should probably be wider.
